The OECD/CERI “Smart Data and Digital Technology in Education” team is pleased to invite you to a fully online OECD Digital Education conference around the findings of the OECD Digital Education Outlook 2026: Exploring Effective Uses of Generative AI in Education. It will be held on 23-24 March 2026 and follow a similar format as the 2021 and 2023 Digital Education conferences, running from 9 am to 6 pm CET on each day. The conference will bring together leading researchers, country officials, international organisations, EdTech representatives and other education stakeholders to discuss from multiple stakeholder perspectives the key insights of the report. In particular, the authors of the chapters of the Digital Education Outlook will present the main examples and messages of their chapters. The agenda consists of a mix of topical, policy and stakeholder sessions discussing different uses of generative AI for learning, teaching, assessment, and school and system management, and what we should expect from educational GenAI tools. Sessions will include time for questions and answers with the audience. Please register here to consult the agenda and choose the sessions of your interest. The OECD Digital Education Outlook 2026 was launched last January in London, just after a UK international summit on GenAI and before a Bett government symposium. The hybrid (in-presence and online) launch event attracted a lot of interest, with over 1 300 participants following live on Zoom (see recording here, including OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann’s address and Andreas Schleicher’s presentation of the finding (see PPT here)).
