{"id":2378,"date":"2011-07-14T09:00:15","date_gmt":"2011-07-14T07:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/msc.ds.unipi.gr\/en\/?p=2378"},"modified":"2023-05-02T14:29:46","modified_gmt":"2023-05-02T12:29:46","slug":"assistive-technologies-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/masters.ds.unipi.gr\/elearning\/en\/assistive-technologies-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Assistive Technologies in Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--\n\n<h3>Objective<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The learning objectives of this course is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>\u03a4o highlightthe significant role of the issues surrounding the design and use of assistive technology (AT) that benefits people with disabilities and older adults.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>To introduce assistive technology (AT) that refers to equipment that improves the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>To include hardware such as augmentative communication devices, adaptive tools, and software designed to support the participation of individuals with disabilities in the school or larger community.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>To give the opportunity of interaction with a wide range of applications for assistive technology in the home, school, workplace and community environments that could can meet the needs of individuals with various disabilities in many settings.<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"padding-top:10px; padding-bottom:10px;\">Course Contents<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be better able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>Recognize the major disabilities that use Assistive Technology (AT)<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Understand the field of assistive technology that support participation, communication, and learning in individual session or in inclusion classroom settings.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Realise how to match assistive technology features to learner individual need<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Be able to create individual education plans for children or adults with special educational needs and learning disabilities (e.g. Universal Design for Learning)<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Understand how to utilize a variety of online resources and training opportunities to expand and support their assistive technology knowledge and skills<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n--><br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<!--\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>L.
